Edgar Gabriel is a Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS) Software Development Engineer at AMD. His work is focusing on enhancing the support and performance of communication libraries such as UCX, UCC, and Open MPI on Instinct Accelerators and the ROCm software stack. Prior to joining AMD, he was working for 16 years as a faculty in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston. His research interests are in High Performance Computing, Communication Libraries, Parallel File I/O, and Performance Tuning. He obtained his PhD from the University of Stuttgart in Germany.
