Biography
Daniela Cassol is currently a Bioinformatics Computing Consultant at the DOE Joint Genome Institute, LBL. She began her academic journey by earning a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pelotas and went on to obtain a Master's degree in Plant Physiology from the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil. Her thesis focused on studying the differentially expressed genes under drought conditions in Castor bean and identifying mechanisms of response to this stress. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Genetics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2016. After contributing to a private company in Brazil for over a year, she embraced an opportunity at UC Riverside in 2017, undertaking a postdoctoral role in Bioinformatics.
