Biography
Aaron Barlow is a HPC software engineer for the Software Services Development group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where his work focuses on designing, building, and deploying operational software, in support of the Oak Ridge Leadership Facility's HPC ecosystem.

He completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at East Tennessee State University in 2020. Before joining ORNL full-time later that year, he spent four years interning year-round there, focusing on the development of HPC operational software. He also spent the summer of 2019 working as an intern at Bank of America, where he helped create and deploy a natural language processing model used to automate entity recognition and categorize millions of documents.

In addition to his work, he is actively involved in his community and enjoys mentoring. His commitment to these activities is demonstrated by his participation in the PEARC Student Volunteer Committee and his contributions to student programs at the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS).

Outside of his professional life, he enjoys volleyball, dancing, playing the piano, exercise, reading, travel, and promoting open-science.
