Joe Bank graduated from MIT with an M.Eng. in electrical engineering and computer science, as well as dual S.B. degrees in computer science and engineering and in mathematics. Joe came to D. E. Shaw Research after more than 10 years with Reservoir Labs, and has since worked on architectural exploration, simulation, and embedded code development for all three generations of Anton. Previously, he directed development of dynamic compilation systems, including what was, at the time, the world's fastest Java Virtual Machine/Just-In-Time compiler.
