Anna Ciampolini
Biography
Anna Ciampolini earned her Electronic Engineering degree with honors from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1987, and completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1991. Presently, she holds the position of full Professor at the School of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Bologna, where she imparts knowledge on Operating Systems.

Between 2007 and 2013, she served as the Chair of Degree Courses in Computer Engineering at the same university. Additionally, from 2015 to 2018, Anna Ciampolini assumed the role of Vice-Director of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Her research pursuits encompass a diverse range of topics:

1. Artificial Intelligence, with a specific focus on distributed automated reasoning techniques and their applications to intelligent agent systems.
2. Parallel and Distributed Programming languages, particularly exploring logic languages and their extensions in modular and object-oriented programming.
3. Operating Systems and virtualization techniques.
4. Adaptive and autonomic distributed systems.
5. Autonomic management of Cloud computing systems.

Anna Ciampolini's research work encompasses implementation, application, and theoretical aspects, which she has disseminated through numerous national and international publications. Throughout her career, she actively participated in various national and international (UE) research projects, often taking on the role of Coordinator, with research themes spanning Parallel and Distributed Systems, Agent Systems, Computational Logic, and Coordination protocols.

Moreover, she has been actively engaged in various scientific and organizing committees for national and international conferences and workshops.
