Biography
Aurelio is a third year PhD student in Computers Science at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. His research thesis develops scheduling strategies to reduce the impact of data-movement in data analysis workflows running on Exascale systems. Aurelio is now doing his internship at Argonne National Laboratory where he is actively contributing to THAPI/iprof a generic tracing and profiling tool intended to help scientists to debug Heterogeneous Scientific Applications running on Aurora, the Argonne's Exascale System.

Aurelio leads CyberColombia, a non-profit organization that promotes the adoption of HPC in Colombia. He is also part of the Latin American High Performance Computing Conference's Board Committee where he is promoting the participation of undergrad, graduate and early career scientists in the field.

Aurelio was granted the International Supercomputing Travel Grant in 2019, during his master degree; and received the Centre for Bioinformatics and Photonics (CIBioFi) Fellowship to develop his bachelor degree thesis in 2017.
