John Klepeis earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University. He received an M.S. in chemical engineering practice and an S.B. in chemical engineering, with a minor in German language and literature, from MIT. During his time at Princeton, John developed novel approaches for protein structure prediction and de novo protein design. He joined D. E. Shaw Research in 2003 and currently leads the group’s force field development team.
