Elena Baralis is full professor in the Control and Computer Engineering Department (DAUIN) of the Politecnico di Torino since January 2005. She is Chair of the Control and Computer Engineering Department since October 2019. She is one of the founding members of the SmartData@PoliTo research center for the analysis of big data. Her current research interests are in the field of data science and machine learning, more specifically on explainable AI (XAI), bias mitigation and machine learning algorithms for big data. She has published over 200 papers in international journals and conference proceeding.
