Biography
Dr. Thomas Clune leads the software infrastructure team for NASA’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office, and serves on the Fortran standard committee as the subgroup lead for generic programming features. Dr. Clune has been a Fortran user for nearly 40 years, and has been a strong advocated for software best practices in the development of complex scientific software written in Fortran. He has also developed a number of open source packages in Fortran including pFunit, a parallel unit testing framework in Fortran, and gFTL, a preprocessor-based analog of C++ container templates for Fortran.
