Duncan Hall is a European Ingénieur (EUR ING) and Chartered Engineer (UK), European and UK equivalents of USA's PEng. He is a:
• Fellow of the British Computer Society
• Fellow of Te Ao Rangahau (Engineering New Zealand)
• IEEE Life Senior Member
• IEEE Computer Society Professional Software Engineering Master
• ACM Senior Member
• ISACA Gold Professional Member, holding certifications of CSXF, CRISC, CGEIT, CISM
• SABSA Chartered Security Architect at Foundation level, SCF
He works for Aotearoa New Zealand’s Manatū Aorere (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, MFAT), New Zealand's equivalent of USA's Department of State. MFAT has no HPC, however it has a strong focus on information security.
Duncan's role is Kaiwetepanga Ngaio Rangahau, Tiaki Mōhiohio (Strategy and Planning Manager in MFAT's Information Management Division)
