Andres “Dre” Gonzalez began his academic career at Texas State University in Music Education, but his life turned a different direction when he decided to switch his path to Biology, earning his undergraduate degree in 2012 and a Masters in Biochemistry soon after in 2014 studying under Dr. Rachell Booth. A few years into a plasma pharmaceuticals role, he decided to return to school and pursue a formal education in what he felt was where all roads were leading. In December of 2020, he earned a Master’s of Science in Computer Science, studying under Dr. Martin Burtscher at Texas State University’s Efficient Computing Laboratory. Dre currently works in the biotech industry, where he is able to combine his wet laboratory background with that of computers in a position that involves developing skills in bioinformatics. He hopes to return to his formal education and complete his studies with Dr. Burtscher soon.
