Thilina Ratnayaka is a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focus is on efficient high-order finite/spectral element simulations in exascale and pre-exascale machines by improving scalability of pre-simulation workflows (mesh partitioning and connectivity calculation), efficiency of coarse grid solver algorithms and portability of GPU programing models. Software he developed are being used in both Nek5000 and nekRS, two highly scalable spectral element CFD solvers.
