Biography
Paul Zimmerman specializes in the creation and application of computational methods to study chemical reactions and materials. After graduating from the chemical engineering program at the University of California Berkeley, he received his PhD in chemical engineering from Stanford University in 2010 under the direction of Charles Musgrave. Afterward, Paul did postdoctoral work at Berkeley in the College of Chemistry with Alex Bell and Martin Head-Gordon.

Since 2012, Paul has been faculty of Chemistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, being promoted to full professor in 2022. Paul is the recipient of the NSF CAREER award (2016), a Sloan Research Fellowship (2016) and the UM Henry Russel Award (2018), among others. His group has published over 100 research articles since its inception.
