Biography
Babar Khan is an international Pakistani PhD candidate at Computer Science department of TU Darmstadt, Germany. He is in fourth year of his PhD and his research is mainly based on accelerating storage and database in the context of High-Performance Computing (HPC). Before his PhD, he had successfully completed his Master's in Science (M.Sc.) thesis at Intel Germany with highest distinction. During his ongoing PhD he has also won the best paper award for his research based on accelerating Linux block I/O layer through 16nm FPGA-based hardware accelerators. Additionally, he contributes regularly to open-source software and hardware projects. During his free time, he enjoys jogging, hiking on mountains, cycling and actively participating in social causes.
