Main research topics are on computer architectures and accelerators, high-performance computing and distributed infrastructures (cloud computing paradigm). Other research interests include artificial intelligence and evolutionary algorithms and their applications. Past activities include a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Science at University of Siena, working on computer architecture design. He has been involved in several EU funded projects
