Biography
Thomas received his Ph.D. in engineering at Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain, Belgium) in 2019. He held postdoctoral positions at UCLouvain (2019) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2019-2022), where he led the development of two open-source projects (FLUPS and MURPHY) dedicated to the simulation of partial differential equations on large-scale infrastructures. He has authored several peer-reviewed papers, in the Journal of Computational Physics and the SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, among others. Thomas joined the PMRS research group in October 2022, where he focuses on runtime systems for heterogeneous architecture and user performance with MPICH.
