Dr. Katherine Royston is an R&D staff member in the HPC Methods for Nuclear Applications Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). She earned her Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from Virginia Tech with a focus on medical image reconstruction. Dr. Royston’s research interests focus on the development and application of modeling and simulation techniques for radiation transport. She is experienced with working on large code systems in high-performance computing environments and is a developer for the Shift Monte Carlo code.
