Mauro Tortonesi received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 2006. He was a Visiting Scientist with the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC), Pensacola, FL, USA, from 2004 to 2005 and with the United States Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD, USA, in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Ferrara. He has co-authored over 100 articles in the distributed systems research area, with particular reference to Compute Continuum, IoT and Big Data solutions in industrial and military environments, wireless middleware, and IT service management.
