Biography
Jinghan Yao is in the second year as a Ph.D. student at The Ohio State University, mentored by Dr. D.K. Panda, with a primary concentration on the development of innovative high-performance computing (HPC) and networking strategies tailored for artificial intelligence (AI) models and applications. His academic pursuits are driven by a profound interest in large-scale parallel inference on AI models, with a particular emphasis on foundation models in the domains of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computer vision. Jinghan has experience in accelerating big data applications on HPC clusters, highlighted by the MPI4Dask project, nominated for the best poster at ISC this year. Prior to embarking on his doctoral journey, he dedicated two years to the Zhang Vision Group at Fudan University, China., contributing to efficient linearization methods for transformers, resulting in a Top 3% spotlight paper at NeurIPS 2021.
