Stefano Piana-Agostinetti graduated in Chemistry at the University of Florence and obtained a PhD from the International School of Advanced Studies of Trieste (Italy) where he used QM methods to study enzymatic catalysis. After a post-doc at ETH of Zurich, he used simulations to study crystal growth at Curtin University in Perth (Australia). He joined D. E. Shaw Research in 2007 where he has been working on methods and applications for ultra-long MD simulations.
