Biography
Sven is Field CTO International at VAST Data, where he helps customers modernizing their infrastructure with large scale all-flash systems and exploring the new possibilities that come with this change, especially in the field of HPC and AI.
Sven looks back at over 15 years of specialization in fast storage systems. He spent over a decade at the Fraunhofer Center for High Performance Computing, where he created the BeeGFS parallel file system as chief architect and lead developer. He later founded ThinkParQ, the company behind BeeGFS, where he drove its adoption in compute centers all around the globe - including some of the fastest supercomputers of our time.
Seeing the extreme application runtime improvements and infrastructure simplifications that are enabled by large scale all-flash storage as core IT infrastructure, Sven decided to focus on helping organizations making the move into the new era by joining VAST Data in early 2021.
Sven holds a master's degree in computer science.
