Betsy Hillery
Biography
Betsy Hillery leads the sponsored research initiatives for The Data Mine at Purdue University. With over 20 years of experience at Purdue, Betsy has spent most of her time in the Research Computing area. Beyond the day-to-day activities on campus, Betsy is involved in national programs such as The Campus Research Consortium (CaRCC), where she is involved in the Staff and Student Workforce Development and Mentor interest group. While participating in the Career Arcs interest group in 2022, she had the pleasure of contributing to a paper that won best paper at the Practice & Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) conference. Beyond these national community activities, she participates locally in the Women in HPC and has coached students to participate in activities such as the Student Cluster Challenge, hosted by the international conference Super Computing. Betsy has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and an MBA from Purdue University. Betsy’s long-term goal is to be in a position that can help change the Cyber Infrastructure community by bringing a more diverse voice to the community.
