Fabio Kon is a Special Advisor to the Scientific Director at the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, Brazil) and a Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo (USP). He carries out research in the fields of Software Engineering, Data Science, Distributed Systems, and Open Source Software. Prof. Kon is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and is highly involved in education and in promoting the best practices of software engineering (including research software development), open-source software, data science, and evidence-based policy-making. At FAPESP, Fabio has been reflecting on and implementing better ways of funding research software.
