Frank Baetke is president and chairman of the board of the European Open File Systems Society(EOFS). He is a Fellow of the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), a member of the Max Planck Society, and other organizations focusing on HPC and related topics. Until January 2018, Frank Baetke led HPE’s (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) worldwide business development activities for the academic and scientific research segment with a focus on high performance computing as part of HPE’s HPC group in Houston, Texas. Before its acquisition by HP, he was European Marketing Director of Convex Computer Corp. in Richardson, Texas.

Frank Baetke started his career as a researcher and academic counselor at Technical University of Munich. He joined Convex Computer Corp. in 1986. He holds a master's degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) and a Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Fluid Dynamics/Applied Physics from Technical University of Munich and has published numerous papers in HPC and Fluid Dynamics.
