Luk Burchard holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin. Luk is a Simula Ph.D. research fellow at the University of Oslo, working at the Simula High-Performance Department. Previously, he worked at Google and Kubermatic in cloud computing and now focuses on solving computationally difficult problems that cannot be solved with conventional hardware. Luk is working with the Graphcore IPU and Cerebras wafer-scale engine to accelerate sparse computation such as SpMV, graph, and bioinformatics algorithms.
