Biography
Hong An is a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Science and Technology of China. Her main research areas are parallel computer architecture, parallel programming and operating system design. She is the founder and director of the Advanced Computer System Architecture(ACSA) Lab in USTC, that tackles the challenge of improving computational efficiency now that transistor scaling is ending. Now, ACSA’s goal was to make parallel programming accessible to most programmers. Previously at the Institute of Computing Technology (ICT) of the Chinese Academy of Science, she Jointed in the Computer System Architecture Division from 2001 to 2005, investigating advanced architectures for energy-efficient high-performance computing. She She has gotten 16 honors and awards for her Research and Computer Education and Teaching Achievement.
