Dr. Lancon is the director of the Scientific Data and Computing Center at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He previously held leadership positions in the area of distributed computing for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva, Switzerland). He developed international collaborations on distributed computing in Romania, Japan, and China. He obtained a Ph.D. in particle physics.
