Biography
Weiguo Liu received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Xian JiaoTong University, China, and his Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is currently a Full Professor and Director of the High-performance Computing Lab at Shandong University. His research interests include high-performance computing and data mining. Prof. Liu was nominated as "Taishan Scholar" in Shandong province and received numerous awards (e.g. ACM Gordon Bell Prize award in SC 2017, Fraunhofer IGD Best Paper award, and CCF HPC China Best Paper award). He is also on the committee of the high-performance computing of the China Computer Federation. His research interests include high-performance computing, bioinformatics, and data mining. His research group has designed tools and algorithms for applications in data processing and computational science using parallel computing technologies such as CUDA-enabled GPUs, CPU/GPU/Xeon Phi clusters, and supercomputers.
