Biography
Dr. Frances C. Hill is the Chief Scientist for the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), headquartered at the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, MS. In this role, she chairs the Scientific Advisory Board, a team of DoD Subject Matter Experts who help define the strategic direction for HPCMP. She brings more than 25 years of HPC experience to this position.

Previously, she served as HPCMP Associate Director for Software Applications, working with the HPCMP user community to ensure that new software applications are developed and existing software applications are updated to maximize efficiency in utilizing HPC resources to solve mission-critical problems for the DoD.

She holds a PhD in geochemistry from Virginia Tech, a MS in geochemistry from Purdue University and a BA in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University. She is the author of more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and 8 book chapters.
