Biography
Zhao Zhang is a computer scientist leading the scalable computing intelligence group in the Data Intensive Computing Group at Texas Advanced Computing Center.

Before joining TACC, he spent two years as a postdoc researcher in AMPLab and BIDS (Berkeley Institute of Data Science) at University of California, Berkeley, working with Prof. Michael J. Franklin. He received a Ph.D from Department of Computer Science at University of Chicago in June 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Ian Foster.

A wide interest in distributed computing, high performance computing, applied machine learning, and applying the computing techniques to solve big data problems. Also interested in data management systems for domain science research and discovery. Recent research focus is scalable deep learning on supercomputers.
