Biography
Dr. Gregory Watson is Group Leader of the Application Engineering Group in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Dr. Watson has a bachelor’s degree in Information Science and Mathematics from the University of Tasmania and holds a PhD in Computer Science from Monash University. Dr. Watson's research interests include development environments, programming tools, and modeling and simulation tools for high performance and scientific computing, scientific workflows, and software engineering research. Dr Watson was previously HPC Tools Architect for IBM’s System & Technology Group and a senior software engineer at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center. Prior to that, Gregory was team leader of the Cluster Research Team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. From 2014-2017, he was also an adjunct professor at the NYU Center for Data Science where he helped develop and deliver NYU’s postgraduate program for Data Science.
