Biography
Dr. Tyler Allen is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the department of Computer Science. He co-directs the High-Performance Computing Systems Research Lab. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Clemson University. His research areas are broadly in the areas of heterogeneous systems performance and efficiency, particularly in the areas of memory utilization. He has published work in GPU application performance optimization, Virtual Memory Performance Analysis for Unified Memory systems, and other memory-adjacent fields. He is interested in upcoming technologies such as disaggregated memory and coherent interconnects and their intersection with virtual memory systems. He has a long history of involvement in student programs at SC and other HPC and systems conferences.
