Biography
Cory Snavely leads the NERSC Infrastructure Services Group at Berkeley Lab, which operates authentication and allocation management systems and provides scalable container and virtual machine platforms that support "edge services" such as workflow managers, science gateways, API endpoints, and databases. He coordinates the Spin project, a Containers-as-a-Service (CaaS) system at NERSC designed to enable users to independently build and deploy edge services using Docker, and is the deputy of the Superfacility project, an effort to build reusable tools and techniques for distributed workflows and data-driven research. He has over 25 years of experience building and maintaining scalable technology infrastructure in a variety of different industries including research computing, data archiving, scientific publishing, higher education, and digital libraries.
