Biography
Xin Fang is currently a senior R&D engineer at Qualcomm. He got his Ph.D. majoring in computer engineer at Northeastern University in 2017. He has been working on computer arithmetic operations on hardware, hardware security and countermeasures, and FPGA-based heterogeneous computing system.
For computer arithmetic, an open source variable precision floating point library called "VFLOAT" is introduced for general FPGAs; for hardware security, he did the side channel analysis and countermeasure scheme on FPGA for security primitives including AES, SHA-3; for the heterogeneous computing system, a system named SIFO (Secure computational Infrastructure using FPGA Overlays) is introduced which takes advantage of FPGA overlay architecture to accelerate a secure function evaluation scheme named Garbled Circuit for general problems in the data center.
He has been actively reviewing papers of conferences such as FPGA(2012-2018), FCCM(2014-2017), HEART(2016-2018), Reconfig(2016-2017), COSADE(2017-2018) and Journals such as IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, ACM Transactions on Architecture and Code Optimization, Journal of Hardware and Systems Security, etc. He is also the committee member of ReCoSoC 2018, and FICC 2019.
