Materialistic: Selecting Similar Materials in Images

DescriptionWe present a method to select the regions of a photograph exhibiting the same material as an artist-chosen area. Our approach is robust to shading, highlights, cast shadows, and across images. We demonstrate that selecting materials is a crucial first step for many downstream image editing applications.
